The Sphere was packed with celebrities for Noche UFC, including WWE superstars from TKO Holdings.
WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio made an appearance at Noche UFC, and backstage, the wrestling icon presented UFC CEO Dana White with a custom luchador mask with the Noche UFC logo on its forehead.
Mysterio was wearing a mask as he approached White.
He explained the meaning of the mask before removing it and replacing it with a yellow and black one that matched his outfit. See the exchange posted to TKO’s Instagram account below:
Mysterio is considered the greatest luchador of all time, with his professional wrestling career spanning 35 years.
The legend turns 50 in December and is still working full time for WWE. For over a year, Mysterio has been embroiled in a storyline feud with his son Dominik Mysterio and Judgment Day. Mysterio is the leader of the Latino World Order and an icon of Mexican culture.
That’s why it was only fitting that he was in attendance at the event and why TKO featured him in three different posts on their Instagram account.
Other celebrities from The Sphere
Dominik Mysterio was also in attendance at the celebrations, though it’s unclear if he was booed when he tried to speak at the Sphere. WWE fans will know what this reference means, as Mysterio has emerged as arguably the greatest heel in professional wrestling.
R&B artist Chris Brown was also at The Sphere, posing for photos with the UFC production team and with current UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.
If you’re wondering just how big a star Pereira has become in the UFC, just look at the number of people who call out to him at events and ask to have their picture taken with him. Pereira has emerged as a bona fide influencer in the sport.
Boxing’s pound-for-pound contender and current WBA light middleweight champion Terence Crawford was also at The Sphere.
UFC production somehow mistook him for rapper Kendrick Lamar, which is a bit of a stretch: even though they share similar complexions and hairstyles, the resemblance is hard to spot at first glance.
Either way, Bud was there.
Denver Nuggets guard, NBA star, and MMA fan Jamal Murray was in attendance, as was comedian and TV personality Andrew Schultz. White has said multiple times that this event is a one-off, but looking at the response, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see UFC return to the Sphere for a special event.
