He had five wins by the end of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night in St. Louis. None of these finishes were as surprising as Chase Hooper’s submission victory over Viacheslav Borshev.
Hooper’s performance was so good that UFC CEO Dana White believes he deserves to be added to the EA UFC 5 roster.
A member of the local St. Louis MMA media asked White about Hooper’s addition to EA UFC 5 during the post-event press conference. White acknowledged his role in the process of adding the fighter to the game, and appears to have verbally approved the addition of Hooper in a future update.
While talking to reporters, White asked, “Of course. You want me to do it. Is that what you want?” “Tonight, I think he earned his spot in the UFC video game. When you look at how hard that kid has worked. He came here at a very young age, but he was very first-class. He was original. In fact, he dropped him in the first round.”He had a great performance tonight. ”
Reporters have also been campaigning for the addition of Joaquin Buckley, but EA has already announced that Buckley will be added in an update around UFC 303 during International Fight Week.
Hooper’s submission win was no surprise.
However, as White mentioned, his performance on the feet was shocking considering Hooper began his run in the UFC as a dangerous fighter only as a grappler.
Another impressive win for Hooper, who also works as a UFC Fight Pass journalist, would further cement his status as a fan favorite. Hooper is a three-time UFC Fight Pass Journalist of the Year..
In the announcement, as mentioned above, EA Sports unveiled an impressive list of new additions to the game’s roster. However, Hooper was not part of the group. However, that doesn’t mean he won’t come in.
Alonzo Menifield, who was knocked out in 12 seconds at UFC St. Louis, was not included in the initial news development and was only added to the roster.
Perhaps EA can slide Hooper into the same update as Buckley.
Hooper understands the game. He has already mentioned challenging gamers to use their characters to win matches with his KO. Someone needs to tell Hooper that it might not be as difficult as he thinks.
The ground game remains the most critical skill gap between good and bad players. Unless you are playing against an opponent who is much better or worse than you, the blows can go either way.
I think his hitting attributes will be modest, but depending on the level you’re playing online, he should still be able to accomplish the task. It’s very doable if you’re not a complete beginner and are playing offline.
Adding Hooper to the game would be cool, but he won’t be able to shift the main role from Charles Oliveira. Either way, the more options you have, the better it is for your sports video game roster.
