Check out the companies that made headlines in pre-market trading: Walmart — The retail giant reported third-quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations and rose about 4%. Walmart also tightened its guidance as customers shop for more than just groceries. Lowe’s — The home improvement retailer’s stock fell 1.7%. The company reported significant improvement in sales and bottom line profits in its fiscal third quarter, but expects sales to decline year-over-year. Lowe’s now expects comparable sales to decline 3% to 3.5%, a slight improvement from the 3.5% to 4% decline it had previously expected. Super Micro Computers — The server maker soared about 26% after announcing BDO as its new auditor. The news comes after Ernst & Young resigned last month. Supermicro also provided Nasdaq with a plan for how it will continue to comply with the exchange’s rules. Symbotic — The automation technology company soared 28.5% after reporting better-than-expected fourth-quarter revenue. Fourth-quarter revenue came in at $576.8 million, well above the $470.2 million posted by Wall Street. Symbotic also provided strong guidance for sales for the current quarter. AeroVironment — Shares fell 5% after the defense contractor announced it would acquire BlueHalo in an all-stock deal worth $4.1 billion. AeroVironment said the partnership will usher in “the next era of defense technology” for the company. BioNTech — Shares rose 1.9% after Evercore ISI improved results and outperformed the German biotech company from in-line. Evercore ISI said the “turmoil” following President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to the Department of Health and Human Services is a buying opportunity for investors. Nvidia — Shares of the artificial intelligence darling and market bellwether rose about 1.5% in premarket trading.
