It was a pretty busy weekend! The town was in full swing with their Pride festival, and the next day they celebrated Father’s Day. It was the hottest weekend of the year, with not a cloud in the sky and no cooling breeze. The only time I could take the dogs out to the woods was early in the morning or just before sunset, both lovely times to stretch your legs amongst the trees.
Well, it’s back to Monday and another week has passed on the third rock from the sun and we are spinning towards my birthday, which is both the longest day of the year and the summer solstice. Usually, my birthday is the day before the summer solstice, but this year it’s both. Yay!
Now it’s time for Wordle!

Wardle Analysis
I check Wordle Bot every day to analyze guessing games. You can check Wordle at Wordle Bot. here.
I thought SPACE would be a fun first word, and it was actually pretty good. If there were less than 100 answers left, it would be a good first guess. At the time, I didn’t know there were only 92 words left, but I was working with the yellow “P” (lol) so I decided to try moving it to another box.
POUND turned the yellow “P” into green, but overall was pretty unlucky. With ten words to choose from and only two letters, I had to make every guess I could think of. PILOT was a close call. That left just one answer: PRIOR, which wins.
When I hear PRIOR I think of both the abbot and the abbot of a monastery, for example, “Before going to the monastery, the pilgrims wrote to Abbot Benjamin to ask if there were enough rooms to stay in for the night.”
I always think like this Pillar of pillars A wonderful novel by Ken Follett. My novel list game of thrones Fans need to read it.
Competitive Wordle Score
Once again, that sly, sneaky, nasty Wordle bot beat me in today’s Wordle by getting it right in just 3 questions. 0 points for getting it right in 4 questions, -1 point for losing to the evil bot. Ugh!
How to play competitive Wordle
Guessing a 1 gets you 3 points, guessing a 2 gets you 2 points, guessing a 3 gets you 1 point, guessing a 4 gets you 0 points, guessing a 5 gets you -1 point, guessing a 6 gets you -2 points and getting the wordle wrong gets you -3 points.

Today’s Wordle Etymology
The word “prior” comes from the Latin “prior” meaning “earlier” or “previous”. It is a comparative form of “pro” meaning “before” or “before”. The Latin “prior” was passed down in Old French as “prior”, retaining the sense of something that precedes in time or order. The same form entered Middle English and has been used in English since the 13th century, retaining its original meaning of something that precedes something else in time or importance.
In the Catholic Church, “abbot” is the title given to the head of a monastery or priory, which is a community of monks or nuns. The term “abbot” is used primarily within religious orders.
