When searching for words that are difficult to find.

This really baffled me, even though I guessed the proverbial “O” right away. While FLOAT left 270 solutions, SPINE only reduced that number to 37. GOURD felt like a natural next guess, but in the end I had to leave out the “U” and apparently there were five words left. I could only think of two: HOBBY and MOMMY, but I chose the wrong one. I think we were lucky to have 5 people as it seems like others like COCKY were also an option. Huzza?

Origin of today’s Wordle
The word “mommy” is a contraction of “mom,” which is itself a variation of “mother.” The root word “mother” comes from Old English. Mordolderived from Proto-Germanic. modern and Indo-European languages emailmeans “mother”. “Mama” became common in the 19th century as a childlike or affectionate way to address mothers, similar to how “daddy” was used for “father.” This reflects the tendency in many languages to use redundant and pejorative terms when addressing parents affectionately.
